To be honest, I didn't ask her why she just didn't bother e-mailing them to me. In the future I will. Here is the angel pattern.
1 skein (won't use all of it) baby yarn
Size F crochet hook
1 1/2 inch carbone ring
Optional: ribbons, jewels, etc. for embellishments, chenille stem for halo, CC for dress
Ch 2. 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join with sl st. (8)
Rnd 1: 2 sc in same sc as sl st, 2 sc in each sc around. (16)
Rnd 2: Sc in same sc as sl st and in next 2 sc, *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc* rpt from * around, join with sl st.
Rnds 3 & 4: Work even, joining each rnd with sl st.
Rnd 5: Sc in same sc as sl st, * sc dec over next 2 sc, sc in next sc * rpt * around, end with a sc, join with sl st. (14)
Rnd 6: Rpt rnd 5, join with sl st. (11)
Rnd 7: Ch 1, sc in same sc as sl st and sc in each sc around, join
with sl st. (11)
Note: Ch is not included in st count.
Rnd 8: Ch 1, sc in back loop of same sc as sl st, sc in back loop of each sc around, join with sl st. (11)
Rnds 9 & 10: Ch 1, sc in same sc as sl st, work even in both loops of each sc around, join with sl st.
Rpt rnds 8, 9 & 10 until angel is desired height.
Last rnd: Work even in both loops of each sc around, fasten off yarn.
Turn angel and stuff, (firmly, but not so firm as to distort stitches). Align sl sts as center back, and whipstitch bottom closed.
Designer's Notes: This dress allows for creativity. This is your angel, so if you want the stitches longer, make them longer, if you want them shorter, make them shorter. A cute effect is to vary the stitch length for a wave effect. (i.e. dc, dtr, tr, in same st. Tr, dtr, dc in next st.)
Hold the angel by her head with the feet being furthest away from you, and starting at center back. Locate the first row of unused loops (work from head to feet) of sc. Insert hook through unused loop at either reattach white or CC.
Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 2 more dc in same loop, 3 dc in each unused sc loop around, sl st in top of beg ch 3 and fasten off yarn, weave in.
Rnd 2: In next row of unused loops, reattach yarn, ch 4 (counts as first tr), 2 more tr in same st, 3 tr in each unused loop around, join with a sl st in top of beg ch 4, fasten off yarn and weave in.
Rnd 3: In next row of unused loops, reattach yarn, ch 5 (counts as first dtr), 2 more dtr in smae st, 3 dtr in each unused loop around, join with sl st on top of beg ch 5, fasten off yarn and weave in.
Continue rnd 3 for the rest of the rows of unused loops.
Insert hook and join yarn to carbone ring with sl st.
22 sc around, covering ring, join with sl st.
Sc in same sc as sl st hdc, dc, tr in next sc 2 dtr in each of
next 2 sc
dtr, dc, hdc in next sc sc in each of next 2 sc hdc, dc, tr in next sc
2 tr in each of next 2 sc tr, dc, hdc in next sc sc in next sc, dc, tr in next sc
2 tr in each of next 2 sc tr, dc, hdc in next sc sc in each of next 2 sc
hdc, dc, tr in next sc 2 tr in each of next 2 sc tr, dc, hdc in next sc join with sl st.
Fasten off yarn and weave in. Either stitch or glue wings to back. Use chenille stem for halo, if desired, and embellish as you want.
