Two Versions/Models made by S. Guess 8/97 One with beads and one with buttons.

Designer's Notes: string the buttons on the thread putting the thread through the 2 holes before beginning.

MATERIALS:
Lustersheen cotton crochet thread
Size C crochet hook
Elastic-covered ponytail holder
7 buttons of varying sizes and colored to match the thread size

DIRECTIONS:

Rnd. 1- Join thread to elastic with sl st. Ch.3 Around elastic work (sc, ch 3) 33 times. Sc around elastic, ch 2. Work hdc in first sc to join. (ch 2+hdc forms the last loop). [35 loops]

Rnd. 2- Ch 1. Sc in loop created by hdc. (ch 5, sc in next loop) around, stopping at next to the last loop. End with ch 2, dc in first sc. (ch 2 + dc forms last loop) [35 loops]

Rnd. 3- Ch 1, sc in formed by dc. * ch 3 bring up button and sl st to attach, ch 3, sc to next loop. Ch 6, sc next loop, ch 6. 10 tr in next loop. (ch 6, sc next loop) twice. Repeat from * to end of round. Finish off.
