NOTES:
String the beads on before starting to crochet. I use 2 ponytail elastics held together in case one of them breaks. A variation of this is to use a contrasting color of yarn on the beaded round. A variegated yarn would be nice. I prefer cotton yarn for scrunchies because it doesn't snag on your hair as much as acrylic yarn.
MATERIALS:
Worsted weight cotton yarn
19 6mm pony beads
2 large ponytail elastic
G hook
DIRECTIONS:
Rnd 1: Join yarn around elastic with sc, work 37 more sc around band. Join with sl st to first sc. (38 sc)
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, ch 3, * (skip next sc, sc in next sc, ch 3), repeat from * around, join with sl st to first sc. (19 ch-3 loops).
Rnd 3: Sl st into first ch-3 sp, ch 1, sc in same sp, ch 3, *(sc in next ch-3 loop, ch 3), repeat from * around, join with sl st to first sc. (19 ch-3 loops)
Rnd 4: Work same as Round 3 except pull a bead up and
join in the middle ch of each ch-3 loop around. (19 beaded loops). Finish
off; weave in ends.
