 Model crocheted by designer

Materials:
Southmaid Size 10 - Cream
Size 6 Hook
small amount of black crochet thread
1/4" ribbon
1" felt
paper
tiny wriggly eyes
stuffing
fabric stiffener

Finished Size:
Body 1/2" x 2"; Tail: 7"-9"

Directions:

Head:

Ch 2, sl st to form ring.

12 sc in ring.

Sc in these 12 sc for 9-12 rows. The "head" can be 1 to 1 ½" long.

Stuff head.

Dec 6, then 2 sc in each sc. This forms the "neck".

Body:

Sc in these 12 sc for 9-12 rows. The "body" can be 1 to 1 ½" long.

Stuff body.

Fold body in half and sc both sides together.

Marker:

Ch 4, trc in ea of next 4 sc evenly, turn.

Ch 4, trc in ea of next 4 sc, turn.

Continue for a total of 17-20 rows or to desired length.

Glasses:

Cut 12" length of black crochet thread, fold in half, tie square knot, wrap around K hook or stick (something slightly larger than eyes), knot twice, wrap around K hook, knot twice. Lay out flat, soak with stiffener, mold open "lenses" to form circles. Let dry completely. Glue eyes to head. Glue bows of glasses to either side of head.

Tie:

Wind sewing thread about 1/2" from end of ribbon, tie knot, cut 1/2" from knot. Cut ends to form "Vs". Glue to "neck".

Book:

Cut felt 1" by 1/2". Cut paper slightly smaller, fold to make 4-6 sheets. Bind paper to felt with sewing thread. Glue bottom of book to bottom part of body.
