*Bobble Scrunchie, by Laura (CPpat 91.html)
An original design by Laura Whitacker

Donated to the CP Pattern Library 9/96Bobble Scrunchie

Model Made by Donna Simpson (ssimpson@sheltonbbs.com) and used here with permission

Model Uploaded 3/15/97

Editor's note: You may miss some of the detail if you don't have a monitor that shows super clear pitures. Donna used a pastel yarn with irridescent highlights for her model. It's really cute!

Designer's Notes: Janice, one of my test pilots, used knit-cro-sheen. She increased the number of bobbles to 20 for each round.

To get good coverage, the first round should about half fill the elastic--Laura

MATERIALS:
Honeysuckle 100% Rayon Chenille or sport yarn or baby yarn
Honeysuckle Cotton Gloss - 5/2 or Perle cotton or #10 crochet cotton
Size 4 or larger hook - depends on size of yarn used.
Large or Small Goody elastic

DIRECTIONS:

Rnd 1: Sl st, join to band, *ch 5, bobble st, ch 2, sc in band*. Repeat from * to * around (small band 7 times - large band 12 times - depends on the weight of your thread).

Do not end off.

Rnd 2: *Ch 5, bobble st, ch 2, sc in band, (in space under next bobble)*, repeat from * to *, around the band for a second row. Tie off. Bury ends in bobbles.

You can either lay the first row of bobbles to the back and add the second row in front or you can flip-flop the first row back and forth as you add the second row.
