These little bags slip over standard size Christmas ornaments and tie up with a small bit of ribbon.
Crochet Steel hook #7.
White crochet thread (size 10).
1/4" ribbon about 7-8 inches long.
Plain glass or satin Christmas ornament.
Ch 7, sl st in first st to form ring. Ch 3.
Round 1: 13 dc in ring. sl st in ch 3 (join).
Round 2: Ch 3, dc in same as ch 3. * ch 2, skip first st. 2 dc in next st. Repeat from * around. join.
Round 3: Ch 3, 2 dc in next st. dc in next, * ch 2, sk space. dc, 2dc, dc (4 st). Repeat from * around. join.
Round 4: ch 3. dc in next st, 2 dc in next 2 st. * ch 2, sk space. dc in next 2 st, 2 dc in next, dc in next 2 st. (6 st). Repeat from * around. Join.
Round 5: Ch 3. dc in next 5, * ch 2, sk sp, dc in next 6 st. Repeat from * around. Join.
Round 6-13: Repeat round 5.
Round 14: (scallop top) Ch 3. Work 2 dc in same st as ch 3. * Sk first st, sl st in next st. 3 dc in same st, sk space, sl st in next st. 3 dc in same st. Repeat from * around. Finish off.
Finishing: Weave small ribbon between stitches in round 13 (every 2 or 3 is fine, whatever works well). Place cover on Christmas ball. Tie ribbon.
