Enough crochet stitches & variations to please everyone from a beginner to an advanced level crocheter.

This book contains 101 different ripple stitches and like most books by Jean Leinhauser, this one has color photos and easy instructions. While I'm a very basic knitter, I did try a couple of the basic designs and had no problem following them. My review is based upon the various crochet stitches.

I must say this book has enough crochet stitches and variations to please everyone from a beginner to an advanced level crocheter. I made sample swatches of five different patterns and again, found the instructions easy to follow. I especially liked pattern #5 which is a classic crochet ripple design. This is shown in the book with 3 colors used as follows: 4 rows color A, 1 row color B, 1 row color C, 1 row color B and end with 4 rows color A. Since I'm new at color changing, this pattern worked out great and was a good learning experience.

For those brave enough to tackle those front post double and back post double crochet stitches, pattern #68 has both used and pattern #47 has a front post triple stitch used.

Most of the crochet stitches used throughout the book are: single, double, cluster, cluster decrease, popcorn and bobble. This book is a recommended buy if you love to crochet afghans and love ripple stitches.
