Afghan Inspirations is yet another in The Needlecraft Shop's line of quality, hardcover, crochet books. Like many of their other afghan-only books, it is divided onto chapters organized by theme. At the beginning of each chapter is an attractive photo of a natural setting, and the afghans in each chapter try to evoke its qualities and appeal.
The styles of afghan vary widely, therefore this book will appeal to most crocheters. Of the 54 patterns included, there are lacy patterns, mile-a-minutes, quilt-styles, filet-styles, richly-textured patterns that use "post" stitches and even a pattern that uses hairpin crochet technique! Included are patterns that will appeal to men, and patterns primarily for children and babies.
Particularly useful, this book features a listing of the yarns used to make the afghan models. From the brands listed, it is clear that the publisher has attempted to include yarns for every budget. Unfortunately, this index does not list every pattern.
Incidentally, Afghan Inspirations includes patterns designed by members the CP discussion group; if you are a CP:) Designer groupie, this book is for you!
