Using a technique discussed in the book
Tapestry
Crochet,
I made this book cover for a
friend. I used a pearl cotton 3/2 and cotton rug
warp. The design is an amalgam of several different purses
I've seen here and there. Tapestry crochet is also called "Hard
Crochet" because it produces a stiff woven-like
fabric. With
tapestry crochet you work with two strands of thread,
carrying forward the color that you're not using. Instead of
finishing off between color changes, begin using the new
color & crochet over the old one. You can get a much better explanation
from the Tapestry book. <G>
